MACC didn’t get any report from Bersatu man, says Azam

This concerns Badrul Hisham Shaharin’s allegation that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s home in Kajang is owned by a Chinese ‘towkay’.

PETALING JAYA: The Bersatu man who alleged that Anwar Ibrahim’s personal residence was owned by a “mysterious Chinese towkay” had never lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), its chief commissioner has revealed.

This comes after Bersatu’s Badrul Hisham Shaharin claimed that he had lodged an MACC report involving Anwar’s home in Kajang, Selangor.

When contacted, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki simply said neither Badrul nor anyone else had filed a complaint or report with the anti-graft agency over the allegations.

A source at MACC said Badrul held a press conference outside the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya last Tuesday, voicing his intention to submit a memorandum concerning his allegations.

“He refused to enter MACC’s headquarters and just said he would submit the information (backing his allegations) via post.

“Until now, MACC has yet to receive any official complaint or memorandum from him,” the source said.

Last week, Anwar’s lawyer lodged a police report against Badrul, Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and blogger Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen, seeking a criminal defamation investigation into their allegations.

Anwar’s lawyer, SN Nair, said the prime minister had signed a 10-year lease for the house in 2020, adding that the allegations were highly defamatory.

Nair said Anwar had all the evidence needed to prove that Badrul’s claims were malicious and aimed at ruining Anwar’s reputation.  FMT

MACC urged to probe ownership of PM’s Kajang house, luxury cars

Bersatu information committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin today urged MACC to investigate Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over the ownership of the latter’s personal residence in Kajang, Selangor.

Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya, Badrul, better known as Chegubard, claimed that the house in Sungai Long that Anwar stays in belongs to a business tycoon.

This was based on a document allegedly signed by a private secretary to Anwar confirming that the bungalow is owned by the businessperson.

In a press conference held after lodging a report at MACC headquarters, Badrul (above) also raised an issue with Anwar utilising several luxury cars which he claimed were not owned by the Pakatan Harapan chairperson.

“It has been a norm for Anwar to move around in luxury cars, even before he became prime minister.

“However, there was no record of any car in the list of his declared assets,” he said.

According to Badrul, Anwar should stop speaking about transparency when he uses premises and cars that he does not own.

He questioned if the businesspersons who provided Anwar the facilities were given something in exchange for their generosity.

On top of this, the Negeri Sembilan Muafakat Nasional chief also queried about a piece of land in Port Dickson, which Anwar purchased for RM1 million last year. MKINI
