IMAGINE, PN WANTS TO TAKE OVER THE SELANGOR STATE GOVT – YET IT DARES TO SUGGEST THE SULTAN THERE IS STUPID! – INDEED, PAS MUST MAKE A STAND ON SANUSI’S ‘ROYAL INSULT’ – THE USUAL SILENCE & HYPOCRISY IS NOT AN OPTION FOR HADI, MUHYIDDIN & CO – ‘THERE ARE LIMITS TO POLITICAL DIFFERENCES. NOT TO THE POINT OF INSULTING EACH OTHER, WHAT MORE THE MALAY RULERS WHOSE POSITIONS & ROLES ARE HIGHLY REVERED’

Saifuddin: Silence on Sanusi’s ‘royal insult’ not an option for PAS

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail urged PAS to make a stand over the party’s election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s alleged insult against Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor.

This follows the Selangor Royal Council’s demand for Sanusi to publicly apologise for his remarks during a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Selayang on July 11, questioning Sultan’s choice of Selangor menteri besar.

“PAS’ Syura Council and the central committee must urgently make a stand on Sanusi’s insolence towards the Selangor Sultan.

“Remaining silent is no longer a choice or else an Islamist party will be seen as complicit to an insolent act against the Malay Rulers,” the home minister told Malaysiakini.

In a video of the speech, which has gone viral on social media, Sanusi can be seen comparing the Kedah sultan and his Selangor counterpart, saying how the former would never have appointed a “lousy” menteri besar.

Yesterday, PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin reportedly reminded Sanusi to be more mindful of his speeches and avoid controversial statements that touch on race, religion and royalty (3R).

Online portal Free Malaysia Today also quoted Hashim as saying that Sanusi could be a “little blunt”.

Saifuddin today said Selangor Royal Council’s demand for an apology reflects the gravity of Sanusi’s speech.

Earlier today, two members of Selangor Royal Council – former Selangor Islamic Council chairperson Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa and Orang Kaya Daerah Petaling Emran Kadir – lodged a police report against Sanusi at the Seksyen 6 police station Shah Alam.

Meanwhile, Saifuddin said police will take appropriate action against Sanusi, according to the law.

“This episode should serve as a lesson for all that there are limits to political differences.

“Not to the point of insulting each other, what more the Malay Rulers whose positions and roles are highly revered in our country,” he said.

Over 30 police reports had been lodged against Sanusi, primarily by Harapan politicians and their supporters in Selangor and other states.
