WILL SANUSI BE ARRESTED – OR WILL ANWAR WAIT UNTIL ‘ROME BURNS’ BEFORE MANNING UP – INSTEAD OF GETTING THE COPS TO ANNOUNCE PROBES THAT SOMEHOW ALWAYS END UP ‘NFA’

 Will Sanusi be arrested?

The police warned “no 3Rs (race, religion and royalty)”. The prime minister too issued a final warning to anyone fanning the 3R, pitting citizens against citizens.

But the caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor seems immune to all well-intended advice and warnings.

Sanusi’s latest tirade claiming that non-Muslims are the worst of the lot when it comes to corruption has drawn much flak and condemnation from politicians and citizens.

Indeed, it is mind-boggling how politicians like Sanusi can seemingly keep getting away with such public statements that by any account cannot promote national unity, peace and harmony amongst the multiracial citizenry.

The ball has been kicked into the court of our law enforcers. People are asking whether Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will act decisively.

Media has also captured public sentiments and condemnations over Sanusi’s latest anti-national claim.

Two other senior leaders riling up rakyat

Truly, if no action is taken this time around by the government, then it is likely to open the floodgates of disunity, racism and religious extremism in a no-holds-barred fashion.

In fact, there are two other senior politicians who are also guilty of trying hard to spark and rile up the rakyat.

Can we risk any further? Do we wait for a complete breakdown before action is taken to douse the flames and repair losses?

The onus is on the current leadership to protect the nation from any impending harm and not wait until “Rome burns” before swinging into action.  WRITER – JD Lovrenciear
