OMG! MUCH-LOVED TV ACTRESS CHARMAINE SHEH IS NOW 45! AND STILL WAITING FOR MR RIGHT

Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh, who was a fixture on numerous TVB dramas in the 2000s, makes no apologies for choosing her work over getting married.

Sheh, who got her start in TVB after winning third place in Miss Hong Kong 1997, spoke candidly about her personal life on talk show, Shining Talks, this month.

The 45-year-old was asked, given that there are two common paths for beauty queens post-pageant: enter the showbiz scene or marry into a good family, why didn’t she choose the latter?

“I was so young then. I didn’t want that. I had just finished my studies and if I got married, that feels weird to me.”

Sheh says after choosing to be an actress, she has never stopped filming since.

“I just kept going and going and there were people who helped push me from behind. And I was getting such good scripts, I just happily kept filming.

“I went to work and then I went home. That was how it was for me from the start until this day. I had no time to even sleep let alone plan my personal life.”

Sheh – who has since ventured into the Mainland China market, finding success in the 2018 hit Story Of Yanxi Palace – says she has no regrets not marrying early.

“If I didn’t get married, it’s because he wasn’t the most suitable person for me.”
