PETALING JAYA: There are no plans for a total lockdown and viral news listing areas that will be included in this measure are totally fake, Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

Ismail Sabri said the government had never made such a decision or issued a statement on that matter.

Therefore, he denied that the information was distributed to the media.

“Right now there is a lot of fake news being transmitted out there including the implementation of a ‘total’ lockdown at the listed areas as published in The Edge report,“ he said.

“The report said it was based on my statements and therefore I strongly deny the claim,“ he said.

He said press statements on any matter will be released daily only after meetings had ended.
