UNIVERSITI Malaysia Sabah fully supports Dr Maszlee Malik as education minister, said Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Taufiq Yap Yun Hin.
He said the former “academic activist” is still new to politics.
“There are not many people like (Maszlee). He is determined and brave enough to correct certain things, in line with the wishes of the people in the ‘New Malaysia’.
“He was selected from among those in the highest posts in the national education hierarchy, and is the best choice as education minister.
He said the initiatives pushed by Maszlee have lifted the national education agenda.
“The principle ‘education is for all and the responsibility of all’ is the key to the changes he is making. However, these efforts can be truly realised only when everyone is fully dedicated and plays their role well.
“From children, parents and teachers to graduates, lecturers and researchers, all are responsible for ensuring national education develops further and becomes more competitive.”
