IN A FRENZY FOR SUPPORT FOR REASONS BEST KNOWN TO HIMSELF, ‘BACKDOOR MEETINGS’ AZMIN CONTINUES TO STIR UP TROUBLE: HIS LOYALISTS CALL ON SELECTED PKR YOUTH CHIEFS TO ATTEND ANOTHER ‘MEETING’ TOMORROW

As PKR deputy president Azmin Ali courts controversy for conducting meetings with selected party MPs over the past 24 hours, his ally Hilman Idham will be chairing a meeting for elected PKR Youth (AMK) division leaders tomorrow.

When contacted by Malaysiakini, the movement’s vice-chief Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus (photo, above) confirmed that he had organised the meeting and sent out invitations today.

He confirmed that state AMK leaders appointed by PKR Youth head Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir were not invited.

“The state leaders are not on our list… We will focus on those who are elected and not those who are appointed,” he said.

Nazree said the meeting agenda was on current political issues.

Asked if he would be attending the monthly PKR Youth central leadership council meeting on Nov 24, Nazree said that has yet to be decided.

The meeting scheduled for Nov 24 will precede the main central leadership council meeting on the same day.

When contacted, Akmal said notifications for the official PKR Youth meetings should be sent out by the secretary and not the vice-chief.

Akmal suggested that the meeting organised by Nazree could be a “backdoor meeting”.

“My advice to them is please come to the meeting on Nov 24. At this hour we should meet formally…

“Don’t create factions in the party. Come to the meeting, and we can have a discussion,” he said.

The apparent parallel meeting by Hilman and Nazree for PKR Youth leaders comes at a time when PKR deputy president Azmin Ali is hosting meetings for some BN and PKR MPs.

The first meeting took place last night at Azmin’s official residence in Putrajaya while another meeting took place in Parliament today.

Only a select group of PKR MPs appear to have been invited.

Hilman is Azmin’s political secretary with the Economic Affairs Ministry.
