ANOTHER MALAYSIAN-BORN STAR IS BORN – ACTOR HENRY GOLDING OF ‘CRAZY RICH ASIANS’ FAME NAMED IN TIME’S 100 NEXT

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian-born international actor Henry Golding has been named among “TIME 100 Next” list of rising stars.

“Honoured to be apart of @time Next 100 with some truly special people. Thanks momma @michelleyeoh_official for the quote,” Golding posted on his Instagram.

The Crazy Rich Asians lead actor was listed alongside other international celebrities such as Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Liza Koshy, Jason Reynolds, Ezra Miller and Ryan O’Connell.

On the TIME’s official website, Malaysian Hollywood actress Michelle Yeoh also put her thoughts on Golding by describing him as someone who has never lost sight of where he came from.

“His ethnicity, his background and his success reflect the inevitable — that we are all one race, one global culture and we will soon no longer have to talk about controversies surrounding representation.

“I am proud of his push for Asian representation,” said Yeoh, who also starred alongside Golding in Last Christmas.

Golding, who is also a model and television presenter, made his first appearance as a host on BBC’s The Travel Show in 2014.

He then became a hit after his film debut in Crazy Rich Asians in 2018 and also starred alongside Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in A Simple Favour in the same year.

The list, launched on Nov 13, highlights 100 rising stars around the world who are shaping the future in fields like business, sports, politics, science and health.
