PETALING JAYA – A 53-year-old man fell and died after being confronted about a complaint that he had taken up-skirt photos of a woman customer at the popular Devi’s Corner Restaurant in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, police said today.
Another woman customer had spotted the man using his mobile phone to take photographs under a customer’s skirt at about 10.40pm on Sunday.
A complaint was made with the Bangsar police station next to the restaurant, and also to a restaurant staff member.
The suspect panicked and fled when police attempted to ask the man to come to the police station, a police statement said.
“He was chased by a staff member into the alley behind the restaurant and turned aggressive when an arrest was attempted,” the statement said. The man panicked and fell, and was knocked unconscious.
He was declared dead when an ambulance crew arrived later. The body has been taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
