KUALA LUMPUR — Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz fabricated claims in his police report alleging that Muhammad Hilman Idham threatened him when they met over sex videos implicating Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali, the minister’s aide asserted today.
Hilman said he filed a counter-report with the police in Putrajaya this afternoon over Haziq’s alleged fabrication.
“I wish to strongly deny the report and stress that it is a false report,” he said in a statement issued by Azmin’s ministry.
“In the meeting, Haziq stated to me that he was a victim of dirty political machinations to oust Azmin. He also stated that the videos were false and denied he was one of the characters in the.”
The political secretary to Azmin also confirmed that Haziq had asked to consult with the latter’s parents, but denied the latter’s claim that Hilman then threatened him when he did so.
Hilman asserted today that he had agreed with Haziq’s request and urged him to be patient.
“I even advised him that to face such slander, family was an important element whose feelings and dignity must be preserved.”
Yesterday, Hilman also lodged reports with the police and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) over the first sex videos, during which he confirmed meeting Haziq before the scandal erupted.
The videos were first spread on Tuesday to journalists on a WhatsApp group created just for it and where several screenshots of purported bank transactions with Azmin’s name were also attached.
Later the same day, Haziq, the senior private secretary to Primary Industries Deputy Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, allegedly admitted on his Facebook page to being the other person in the video.
Yesterday, Shamsul announced that Haziq has been suspended and ordered to show cause for dereliction.
Azmin has rejected the videos as fake and an attempt to assassinate his career and character while Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has also dismissed their authenticity. – Malay Mail
Haziq’s dad lodges report against police
THE father of Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz has alleged that police officers from Bukit Aman forced their way into his house in Kuching yesterday, reports theSun.
Abdul Aziz Ibrahim lodged a police report on the incident, which he said took place at 5pm yesterday when officers came to question him about his son, the Santubong PKR Youth chief who claims to have had a sexual relationship with Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali.
“About five policemen, one wearing the green vest, while four others in plainclothes forced their way through to my house compound,” he was quoted as saying.
Aziz said the police officers claimed they were from Bukit Aman police headquarters and wanted to speak to him about Haziq, but did not produce any identification.
However, he did say they came in a police car and wore police vests.
Aziz told the paper that he lodged a police report at the Kuching district police station at 1am today.
Photos of the police report were posted to Haziq’s Facebook account with a caption urging people to leave his family alone. However, the post has since been deleted.
Haziq has been unreachable by journalists seeking his comments since a clip of two men was circulated early Tuesday.
However, the Facebook page under his name posted a video confession on Wednesday morning in which he admitted to being one of the men in the sex clip.
He also named the other man as Azmin and said the video was taken without his (Haziq’s) consent.
Azmin has denied the video and called it a nefarious plot to destroy his political career.
The Facebook account using Haziq’s name yesterday posted another claim that he and Azmin had had previous sexual encounters dating back to three years ago.
Haziq also lodged a police report at the Kelana Jaya police station yesterday to deny that he had a political agenda. – https://www.themalaysianinsight.com/
