THE government will set up a new economic body to observe and resolve national economic woes, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.
He said the new body will deal with all economic problems and will also come up with a report on investments.
“We have agreed to set up a new economic body to observe and resolve our national economic woes, just like the Malay Economic Action Council (MTEM) but of course with a different name.
“This body will look at all economic problems in the country, and will try to analyse the matter and come up with a decision on how to resolve the problem.
“It will also come up with investment reports because as of now, things are not in order, economy-wise,” said Mahathir after attending a Pakatan Harapan leadership council meeting in Putrajaya.
The PH chairman also said the pact will soon be listing down its achievements since coming to power after the last general election on May 9.
He said the people were not well informed of the things that PH had done for the country due to lack of information.
“Many have said that as a coalition, we are not delivering but the truth is we have delivered. In fact, since taking over the government, we have been able to work professionally and we have achieved many things together.
“The people are not well informed of what we have achieved because the lack of information. We will come up with a list of things that have been implemented by Pakatan Harapan soon,” Mahathir added.
