Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin has advised the rakyat to choose a party that is the lesser evil (kurang mudarat) when voting in the 14th general election (GE14).
There are no political parties that are perfect, he said, without naming any political party.
“I feel in an election, it is not about who is good, but who is less bad, that is all.
“In my view, it is about the lesser evil between getting your legs cut off, or your head cut off.
“If you cut off both, one, you will die, the other will hurt,” Asri said in a video uploaded on his Facebook page today.
He was responding to a question by a forum participant who had asked for advice on the upcoming general election.
Of late, there have been rising calls for voters to spoil their votes in the upcoming general election, prompted by parties who are disenchanted with both BN and Pakatan Harapan, especially with the choice of the latter to field former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad as their prime ministerial candidate.
