Three staffers of an MP have reportedly been detained by the MACC to facilitate investigations involving immigration.
According to Berita Harian, the three were the MP’s political secretary, personal assistant, and clerk.
It is not clear who the MP in question is.
The MACC reportedly arrested the clerk and personal assistant at a restaurant in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur this afternoon, while the political secretary was nabbed at the graftbuster’s office in the capital at 8pm.
The case is believed to stem from a complaint where a company bringing in foreign skilled workers were asked to come up with RM55,000 to deal with immigration matters.
The MACC will reportedly remand the trio tomorrow morning.
