Pakatan Harapan leaders, including its chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad will meet Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tomorrow morning.
The meeting is regarding Harapan’s application to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to become a formal coalition.
According to a press invite from Harapan, the meeting is scheduled to take place at the Home Ministry in Putrajaya, at 11 AM.
The opposition pact had submitted its application to the ROS in July and had even complied with a proposed change to its logo.
However, there have been no developments on the matter since.
ROS director-general Surayati Ibrahim on Friday said she had “no updates” on the matter, and declined to comment when asked why there was a delay.
If Harapan’s application is approved, the 14th general elections will be the first time in Malaysian history that two formal coalitions contest against each other.
