KUALA LUMPUR – Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan told Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today to state that DAP’s Lim Kit Siang should be the next prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the upcoming general elections.
The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department also said that PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail should allow the DAP veteran leader to take over as parliamentary Opposition Leader since the DAP has more seats than PKR.
“LKS says any Msian can be PM. I agree. For a start, he should immediately be opposition leader & head of Pakatan. Why hesitating?” Abdul Rahman tweeted.
“How to be PM when LKS is deprived of the opposition leader job in parliament? Wan Azizah should give way to LKS since DAP has more seats!
“TS Muhyiddin should be courageous enough to say that LKS should be the next PM should PH wins the GE. Stop pussyfooting around!” he added.
The Star Online reported Lim as saying in Kulai last night that it had never crossed his mind to be prime minister.
Umno politicians have frequently accused Lim and the DAP of controlling Pakatan Harapan that comprises the DAP, PKR, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and PPBM.
With 37 federal seats, the DAP is the second-largest party in Parliament after Umno. Amanah and PPBM, which was founded by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, are less than two years’ old.
