THE CURSE OF MARIE ANTOINETTE: ARROGANT & OUT-OF-TOUCH NAJIB ‘GUILOTTINES’ HIMSELF WITH INSENSITIVE PETROL PRICE HIKES

Najib Abdul Razak scolded Malaysians for complaining about the 20 sen petrol price hike.

Clearly out of touch with the Malaysian rakyat, he added, “Here, we make a fuss over an increase of 10 sen to 20 sen.”

Then he said that Saudi Arabians do not moan, even though they had to endure a 50 percent petrol price hike.

Lets look at the facts:

For March 2017:

  • RON 95 is RM2.30 per litre
  • RON 97 at RM2.60 per litre
  • Diesel goes up 5 sen to RM2.20 per litre

Does Najib remember that  we had two consecutive months when RON 95 went up?

  • At the end of 2016, RON 95 was RM1.90 per litre
  • In January, after a 20 sen increase, the price per litre was RM2.10.
  • Then last month, February, there was another 20 sen hike. to RM2.30 per litre.

Groceries, school bus / taxi fares will all go up, but Najib told us “Stop fussing!”

HE REMINDS US OF MARIE ANTOINETTE

When he tells us to stop fussing,  the prime minister sounds very arrogant, just like Marie Antoinette who told starving Parisians who had no bread to eat, “Let them eat cake”.

Where is his compassion? Is Najib not aware that not all Malaysians lead an extravagant lifestyle, like some in Putrajaya and the cronies of the gomen. The majority of Malaysians are barely surviving.

People are suffering. A 20 sen price hike will result in price increases across the board. For instance, farmers, traders, retailers, wholesalers, shop owners, restaurants, cafe owners will need to pass this price hike on to someone….that someone is the consumer. The ordinary rakyat.

The cost of services will also increase. The workman has to travel to his workplace. His tools have to be transported. Fares for transport will also rise. Bus fares for school. Taxi rides. Delivery vans.

At the Kerinchi opening, Najib warned others not to confuse the rakyat. He said, “Don’t try to confuse and incite the people because every measure the government takes is our (country’s) long- and short-term interests.”

Najib is doing a good job provoking us. He does not need anyone’s help.
