PAS today challenged DAP to proceed with legal actions against party president Abdul Hadi Awang, claiming that hundreds of thousands Muslims and non-Muslims who respects Islam will rise to act as his “defence lawyers”.
“DAP wants to try…..Please do!,” said PAS information chief Nasruddin Hassan in a statement.
He also claimed to have evidence of statements and actions by DAP leaders which exposes their true colours as reiterated by Abdul Hadi.
“I have evidence of statements and actions by DAP leaders who made fun of Islamic laws and at the same time exposing their anti-Islam stance to the public.
“InsyaAllah, if DAP sues the PAS president, then hundreds of thousands or millions of Muslims and non-Muslims who respects Islam will rise to be ‘defence lawyers’ for the leader of an Islamic movement,” said the Temerloh MP.
Nasruddin said this in response to Lim who yesterday said he was mulling legal actions against Abdul Hadi after the latter purportedly called him “anti-Islam”.
Abdul Hadi on Friday had reportedly made the claim in dismissing any possibility of once again working with the DAP, as a response to Lim’s ‘olive branch’ earlier last week.
The New Straits Times quoted the Marang MP as saying that this was because DAP had not shown that it supports PAS’ Islamic cause.
Commenting further, Nasruddin said Lim’s ‘olive branch’ issued through the media is disrespectful and more like a signal from a group of gangsters to their enemy.
“It was not meant to promote peace but to make matters worse and make fun of the enemy,” he claimed.
He also described Lim’s intention to sue as yet another of DAP’s strategy to allegedly destroy PAS, stressing that it would be doomed to failure.
“If DAP is once again calculating to weaken PAS president and his party with their latest legal suit strategy, then their strategy would surely fail.
“Instead they will continue to remain disappointed to fulfil their rotten ambitions (to destroy PAS),” said Nasruddin who alluded to the break-up of Pakatan Rakyat after PAS and DAP had severed ties.
