ALOR SETAR – MCA is confident of wresting two parliament and two state seats in Kedah in the next general election, said vice-president Datuk Lee Chee Leong.
Lee, who is Kedah MCA chairman, said this was due to the commitment of party leaders at all levels and the positive response from the grassroots and community.
“Through the JR-Plus (Jalinan Rakyat-Plus) programme and the commitment and spirit of all our members of all levels, MCA will be able to win back the Alor Setar and Padang Serai parliamentary seats and the Kota Darul Aman and Bakar Arang state seats which we lost in the last general election,” said Lee at the launch of the Jalinan Rakyat Plus training session for Kedah and Perlis MCA at Bangunan Tunku here.
MCA currently holds the Gurun and Kulim state seats.
Earlier, Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said the Jalinan Rakyat Plus programme was aimed at educating party members on how to go to the ground to carry out door-to-door surveys more effectively.
