PAKATAN Harapan said today it has set up an election secretariat comprising members of the coalition in preparation for the 14th general election, which must be held before August 2018.
PH vice-president Muhiyiddin Yassin said the coalition has also agreed to have a full-time operations centre to gather information and set up its election machinery in all states.
“We have decided to focus on specific areas around the country to ensure that we will win the seats there so that we can form the government. But I can’t reveal the locations,” he said after attending a meeting at the Bersatu office in Petaling Jaya.
Muhiyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, said other issues discussed at the meeting were the formation of state-level committees at the various parliamentary constituencies.
Election teams to monitor preparations and carry out an audit on the work done in all the states will also be set up.
“We need to know what are the weaknesses and improvements we can make to ensure that our election machinery is in place.
“I also want to stress that we have a good working relationship with all party members.
“We are working together as a coalition to achieve our goals and there are no individuals in Bersatu, Amanah, DAP and PKR.”
Muhiyiddin said PH’s main aim is to form a government which is better and cleaner and to replace Barisan Nasional.
“We have put aside whatever differences we have to contest in the elections under one logo which is decided by PH.”
