KNOWING ‘GREEDY FOR POWER’ PKR THE ACHILLES HEEL IN HARAPAN, NAZRI & UMNO POKE FIRE AT DR M-AZIZAH LEADERSHIP

KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has taken a shot at Pakatan Harapan, labelling its recently announced leadership line-up as a recipe for disaster.

The Umno supreme council member pointed out that it remained vague and confusing as to who was the actual leader of the Opposition, as there are three top leadership positions in the line-up.

“When I saw the line-up, I thought it was a recipe for disaster because it’s very confusing.

“In fact, I think they are also confused because they don’t know who should be the leader,” he told The Star.

On Thursday night, Pakatan Harapan announced Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the coalition’s de facto leader, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its chairman and Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as its president.

Nazri explained that the ambiguity of Pakatan Harapan’s leadership was probably caused by the Opposition’s distrust towards Dr Mahathir because he is a former Umno president.

“They are suspicious of each other because Dr Mahathir was the one who put Anwar in jail.

“So, the question among the Opposition is whether Dr Mahathir is really sincere or is it just convenient for him to take down Datuk Seri Najib Razak as the prime minister?” he said.

Nazri also took a swipe at Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, labelling the former Umno leader a rejected politician.

“Saifuddin wasn’t performing as an MP and an Umno leader, that is why he was voted out in the previous polls.

“If you put a rejected politician as a secretary-general, then it is a recipe for disaster,” he said, referring to Saifuddin’s failure to retain the Temerloh seat for Barisan in GE13.

Pakatan Harapan had on Thursday night announced plans to finalise other details in its constitution before submitting its registration to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) in a week’s time.

Pakatan Harapan which comprises PKR, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Amanah and DAP, also unveiled its logo at the press conference held after a four-hour meeting at PKR headquarters.
