KUALA LUMPUR – Police believe that the shooting of Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail’s driver is not linked to the former attorney-general.
Ampang OCPD Asst Comm Hamzah Alias said they were conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
“We believe the case is not connected to the former attorney-general,” he said when contacted Wednesday.
ACP Hamzah said they were now focussing their efforts to track down the two suspects involved in the shooting.
He also urged the public to refrain from speculating and allow police to conduct their investigations.
On Tuesday morning, the victim was just about to leave his house in Taman Putra when he was approached by two men on a motorcycle who claimed they wanted to meet with him.
He was closing his main gate when he suddenly heard a loud bang and fell to the ground.
The two men, believed to be two locals in their 30s, then fled the scene on a red motorcycle.
