GEORGE TOWN – PAS mouthpiece Harakah Daily has run an editorial comment describing the appointment of Datuk Saifuddin Nasution as Penang strategic advisor as “dedak” (animal feed).
“It is mere ‘dedak’ that has been given so that the individual or appointed party will be tied down,” Harakah Daily wrote in a 15-paragraph article posted on its website on Thursday.
The article added that DAP was leveraging on its leadership of the Penang government, and made the appointment as a means to achieve its ultimate objective.
Saifuddin, who is also PKR secretary-general, took his oath as Penang’s strategic advisor before Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and state secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus on Wednesday.
He told reporters he would take the opportunity to further strengthen Pakatan Harapan in Penang.
Asked if he would contest in the state during the next general election, Saifuddin said it was too early to tell.
He became PKR’s secretary-general in December after Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli was convicted under the Official Secrets Act.
