PAS’ syura council will meet to discuss about the party’s ties with PKR soon.
“God willing, the syura council will hold its conference as soon as possible to unravel the mess regarding the tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) which links our party to other parties,” Syura council secretary Nik Muhammad Zawawi Nik Salleh said.
PAS yesterday unanimously passed a motion calling on the syura council to sever ties with PKR.
The move, if approved, would likely put PAS and PKR – once strong allies – on a collision course during the upcoming general election.
The Islamist party however has expressed confidence that it is a better choice than both BN and Pakatan Harapan.
Nik Muhammad Zawawi said the move to let the syura council decide on whether or not to sever ties with PKR, showed that the council and the party was practicing Islamic principles.
