KUALA TERENGGANU – Police are looking for a teenage boy to facilitate investigations into a rape case involving a 14-year-old girl who is now five months pregnant.
The girl lodged a report against the boy last Thursday after she related the incident to her parents.
She told police that the boy has been avoiding her calls and refused to meet her to discuss her pregnancy.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Idris Abdul Rafar confirmed the report and the case is being investigated under the Section 379 of the Penal Code for rape.
If convicted, the teenage boy could face up to 20 years imprisonment and a fine or whipping or both.
He said police are compiling details on the boy and the incident, which was said to have taken place some time in November last year.
“The victim said she befriended with the suspect via the WeChat application,” he said.
Idris said said the girl claimed that on the day of the incident, the boy picked her up near a primary school in Chabang Tiga and took her to Pulau Warisan for sightseeing.
“After that, she said she was taken to a house in Kampung Manir where she was raped.” he said.
