KOTA KINABALU – The younger brother of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal has been hauled up by graft investigators probing the alleged siphoning of rural development funds meant for Sabah.
Hamid Apdal turned up at the Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office at 10am on Tuesday after the commission failed to locate him at his house in Taman Bersatu Putatan here late Monday night.
Hamid was not at home when MACC officers showed up at his house.
It is believed that Hamid is part of investigations surrounding the skimming of funds through a network of at least 60 companies given rural projects in Sabah.
On Monday, a Barisan Nasional component party senator also gave his statement to MACC but was released.
Sources expect at least two Sabah assemblymen and another senator to be called in to give their statements.
