DID THEY TORTURE HIM LIKE TEOH BENG HOCK? WARISAN VEEP PETER ANTHONY TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL EXAM

KOTA KINABALU – Parti Warisan vice-president Datuk Peter Anthony (pic), who is under remand in the ongoing Sabah rural projects graft probe, was taken to hospital for a medical examination.

His lawyer Martin Tommy said they had made the request to the magistrate’s court on Tuesday when Anthony was brought by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigators for his remand to be extended by three days.

“I know they took him for a medical examination after Tuesday’s court proceedings. Beyond that I do not know, as I have not been informed,” he said when asked about social media claims that Anthony has been warded at a hospital for observation.

Tommy said he did not want to say what medical condition Anthony was suffering from, as it was privileged information.

The 46-year-old Anthony, a businessman turned politician, is among seven people arrested in connection with the alleged siphoning of up to RM1.5bil from RM7.5bil Rural and Regional Development Ministry funds for projects in Sabah between 2009 and 2015.

Anthony was arrested on Oct 5 and was initially remanded five days before his remand was extended for another three days.
