COME LAH! BUT DON’T CHICKEN OUT, YAH! GUAN ENG WELCOMES PENANG MCA CHIEF TAN TEIK CHENG TO CONTEST AT HIS AIR PUTIH STRONGHOLD

BUTTERWORTH – Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng should sweep two more local council president positions in the state, Penang MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng said, taking a jibe at Lim who currently holds 19 chairman posts in the state.

Tan said Lim should hold two more influential presidential posts for the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP), so he could simultaneously hold a total of 21 chairman positions in various agencies in the state.

Tan said for the chief minister to hold so many chairman posts, it shows that Lim’s leadership is a dictatorship.

“The current situation has shown it is Lim’s ‘One-Man Show’ in the state,” he said when officiating the Annual General Meeting of MCA Permatang Pauh division’s youth and women’s wing, here today.

Tan added that it was unhealthy for the chief minister to hold numerous chairman posts and gather all power in one man’s hands.

Therefore, he urged the public to give the mandate to MCA in the 14th General Election.

“I hope the public will give us the chance to enter the Penang Legislative Assembly to monitor and provide a check-and-balance for the DAP-led state government,” he said.

On June 5, a Chinese daily reported that in a written answer in the 13th Penang Legislative Assembly, Lim said he held 19 chairman posts in state government agencies and government-linked agencies.
