KUALA LUMPUR – Two hotel employees pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to a charge of managing a brothel.
Cashier Wong Shiau Leng, 43, and her colleague, Kong Tuck Chong, 54, a waiter, made the plea before judge Datin M. Kunasundary.
They were charged with managing a brothel at Mid-Way Health Spa, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra here, at 5.15 pm last Feb 25.
The charge, under Section 373(1)(a) of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to 15 years and fine, if found guilty.
Wong and Kong were allowed bail of RM18,000 in one surety each and they were also ordered to surrender their passport to the court.
The court set April 11 for mention.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Liyana Zawani Mohd Radzi, while lawyer Sia Chau Eng represented both the accused.
