BERSATU YOUTH CHIEF SYED SADDIQ HOPING FOR ‘EASY RIDE’ AT MUAR, WHERE HE’LL BENEFIT FROM MUHYIDDIN’S INFLUENCE?

PETALING JAYA – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman has stayed mum today over claim that he will be debuting as a contestant for the Muar seat in the next polls.

Malaysiakini had cited an anonymous source claiming that Syed Saddiq will be placed in a Parliamentary seat in “northern Johor” instead of just a state seat.

“Let the party decide,” he told the portal.

Syed Saddiq has not responded to Malay Mail’s request for clarification so far.

It was previously reported that PPBM will be contesting two seats in northern Johor: Pagoh and Muar.

PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is the incumbent MP for Pagoh.

The incumbent MP for Muar is Datuk Razali Ibrahim, a deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

In 2013, Razali had defeated PKR’s Nor Hizwan Ahmad with a 1,646 majority.
