GENTING HIGHLANDS – MCA supports the Government’s move to challenge the International Court of Justice (ICJ)’s judgment on the sovereignty of Pulau Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks and South Ledge near Johor.
Party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic) said it has been Malaysians’ hope to see the islands returned to the country.
“New proof is coming in to show that Pulau Batu Puteh belongs to Malaysia and we want to claim back our island,” he said.
Liow was speaking to reporters after attending the Genting Group’s annual Chinese New Year open house at the Genting International Convention Centre here Saturday.
At the event, the international casino operator made a contribution of RM250,000 to 25 charitable organisations.
“The challenging economic landscape makes it even more important for us to contribute to those who require financial assistance,” said Genting Group chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay.
“When we donate, we are contributing to causes that bring positive change to the community.”
The 800 guests at the event were treated to a variety of dishes from 23 stalls, many of them award-winning restaurants here.
