PETALING JAYA – Senior Selangor executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Khim wishes to retire after 22 years in politics.
Teng, who was asked on an ubah.tv interview if he would run in the next general election, said there are many young members waiting in the wings, adding that he has held on to his seat for too long.
The DAP central executive committee member denied that his decision to retire is over Selangor’s suspended guidelines on non-Muslim places of worship.
Teng has been Sungai Pinang assemblyman since 1995.
He is also the elder brother of Penang Barisan Nasional chairman Teng Chang Yeow
