A TEENAGE girl was allegedly gang-raped after following her boyfriend out for supper, China Press reported.
The 17-year-old from Kampung Pasir Parit in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, went out with her boyfriend at about 11.45pm on Friday.
Instead of taking her to supper, he took her to a rest area in the village where five of his friends were waiting, the daily reported.
Kelantan deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Din Ahmad said the victim, a student, lodged a report at the village police station on Saturday evening.
Five men aged between 20 and 32 have been arrested, he said, adding that they are still hunting for one more suspect.
The case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang-rape.
> The people of Bentong, Pahang, want Hong Kong actress Grace Lam to come clean about a video – which appeared to be staged – of her purportedly being robbed there, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Bentong Chinese Town Hall president Datuk Low Long Yang said the incident had tarnished the town’s image.
“Tourism here is developing. There will be losses and negative consequences if people believe the video to be real,” he said.
On Saturday, Lam was using the live streaming function on Facebook in Bentong when a man suddenly snatched her handbag.
She is said to have told a Hong Kong newspaper that her manager and a local friend gave chase and retrieved her belongings.
However, she later apologised on Facebook, saying it was a “misunderstanding”, but did not elaborate.
MCA Youth Bentong division chairman Jason Poo Mun Hoong said the actress should come forward and clarify the matter.
He said he was also at Bentong Walk for a meeting the same night until 10.30pm and nothing happened there.
“If she was really robbed, she should have lodged a report immediately and let the police take action,” he said.
